Usually, the start of the learning curve for anyone who acquires a lathe, is to mash an innocent piece of wood into a "bowl form."

My start was no different: I remembered, that early-on in school, some forty years before, I did something once with a lathe in wood shop.   So, I reasoned, how difficult can woodturning be?

Out of respect for the woodturners on the planet, I won't ever reveal that first thing that I made, nor will I show what's left of the gouge that I made it with, but on this page, I will show some thumbnail images of some "bowl successes."

In each case, if you mouse-click on the thumbnail image, a much larger image of the object will appear, along with a very brief object narrative.
